Built for Business. Built to Be Noticed.
Before a customer places an order, before a word is spoken, they've already formed an opinion about your business. This piece is the reason that opinion starts strong.
This custom host stand and display counter was built for a Jacksonville restaurant during its build-out phase. The brief was clear: it needed to be functional, it needed to hold up in a commercial environment, and it needed to look like it belonged there, not like it was ordered from a catalog and dropped in.
Jonah built it from scratch. Matte black painted base with raised panel detailing on the end cap. Fluted pilaster columns at each corner. A beadboard apron running the full length just beneath the countertop. Warm, knotty pine shelving and counter surface throughout, chosen specifically to contrast the black base and bring warmth into what could easily have been a cold, industrial space.
The result is a piece that has presence. It reads traditional and crafted, which is exactly the message a restaurant wants to send before the food arrives.
Commercial millwork gets judged harder than residential work. Clients see it every day. Staff works around it every day. It has to be right dimensionally, right structurally, and right visually. Off-the-shelf doesn't work when you have specific dimensions, a specific aesthetic, and a standard to meet.
This one met it.
